The sport's section (page 10) has two column photos of Chief Bender (rare) and his catcher Wally Schang with heading: "Schang, Catching Find, And Bender, Mack's Probable Battery For 1st Game" and text. (see) And sure enough, Chief Bender would start game 1 of the 1913 World Series a few days later. Surprisingly this issue is in good condition being from the "wood pulp" era. Very hard to find issues that are not totally fragile from this era in paper.
Complete with 16 pages, small library stamps within the masthead, generally very nice.
