This is the famous anti-slavery newspaper by William Lloyd Garrison, featuring a terrific masthead with 3 vignettes including a slave auction and slaves being emancipated.
Page 3 contains: "Proclamation For A National Thanksgiving" "By the President of the United States of America, A PROCLAMATION" which is signed in type: Abraham Lincoln. It was this Proclamation which officially declared Thanksgiving as an annual holiday to be celebrated the fourth Thursday of November.
