THE LIBERATOR, Boston, Sept. 30, 1864 This is the famous anti-slavery newspaper by famed abolitionist publisher William Lloyd Garrison. The masthead features two engravings, one of a slave auction and the other showing slaves being emancipated.
Among the articles: "A Call For a National Convention of Colored Citizens of the United States" "The Anti-Slavery Movement" "Education of the Freedmen" "The Rebels & Their Northern Allies" and more.
There are also some notable reports on the Civil War including: "McClellan's Speech on Sheridan's Victory" "General Sherman's Reply to General Hood on the Charge of Ungenerous Cruelty" an exchange of letters between A. Lincoln and U.S. Grant signed in type by each, & more.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, several folds with small wear at fold junctures, some foxing.
