This "extra" edition--published outside the regular printing schedule to get historic news into the hands of the public quickly--notes on the front page, with a dateline of "Head-Quarters, Camp before Alexandria, Sept. 5, 1801" fro Egypt, includes: "I have now the satisfaction to inform your Lordship that the forts and town of Alexandria haste surrendered to His Majesty's troops..." with more on the details.
This capitulation of Alexandria put an end to the French expedition in Egypt. Great to have this report on an "extra" edition of this famous London newspaper.
Complete in 8 pages, 7 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
