THE GLASGOW MERCURY, Scotland, July 5, 1781  This issue has a wealth of American news, perhaps too much to detail here so we will include many photos.
Page 2 has a letter from Vice-Admiral Arbuthnot from off Staten Island concerning a naval engagement. Than another letter from him when off New York mentioning: "...having been captured off the capes of the Delaware...The rebels have suffered a great loss in this ship...". Than a report from New York concerning Col. Dalancy marching from Morrissania with 100 cavalry with details on the Battle of Pine's Bridge.
Over one-third of pa pate is taken up with: "General Washington, on public Service being a letter from him to the Hon. Benjamin Harris datelined at his hdqts., New Windsor, March 27, 1781, concerning his needs for ammunition, arms, clothing, etc., signed in type: G. Washington. Also a report concerning the battle at Hobkirk's Hill in South Carolina.
Eight pages, 9 1/2 by 12 1/4 inches, some rubbing at folds, some foxing, tape at the blank spine, generally good condition.
