October 31, 1938

NEW YORK WORLD-TELEGRAM, October 31, 1938

* War of the Worlds - Orson Welles
* Radio broadcast causes panic (1st report)
* Mars invasion - martians

The front page has a two three heading: "U.S. Investigates Radio War Drama That Threw the Nation into Panic" with subhead and photo of Orson Welles. (see) A great, lengthy report continues on the inside pages. Nice to have in a New York City publication.
Complete with all 36 pages, light toning at the margins, small library stamp within the masthead, small binding holes along the spine, generally very nice.
