The sport's section (page 22) has various reporting on baseball games from the previous day including a one column heading: "Five in Eighth Give Giants 8-5 Win Over Phillies" with subhead and box scores. Although there is no mention of it, this was in fact Willie Mays' MLB debut. The only reference here is his last name in the box scores. (see image).
