THE GLOBE, South Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, July 7, 1898 Page 3 contains the historic report of the annexation of the Hawaiian Islands to the United States with column heads: "ANNEXATION OF HAWAII" "The Bill Goes Through the Senate by a Decisive Vote" '"Senator Morrill Against It" and more. The text takes two-thirds of a column. Nice in that this is a same-day report.
The front page has a reporting concerning the sinking of the ship La Bourgogne with heads: "COWARDLY MARINERS" "Astounding Scenes at the Wreck of LaBourgogne" "Run Down By A Sailing Vessel" "The Steamer Quickly Sunk & 562 Lives Were Lost" "Only One Woman Rescued" and more.
Four pages, very light toning, nice condition.
