PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, April 5, 1875
* Molly Maguires
* Rare "Coffin Notices" mention
* Pottsville Pennsylvania
The top of the first column has nice heads on the troubles with the Molly Maguires in the coal region of Pennsylvania. They include: "MINERS' DISTURBANCES" "The Situation Unchanged" "Plenty of Coffin Notices" "the Mobs Ordered to Disperse" "Impending Railroad Transportation" "Troops Ready To Move". Rare mention of the infamous "coffin notices" here. The detailed report has much on the strike and the resulting troubles, problems which would ultimately end with a series of arrests, trials & executions between 1876 and 1878.
Eight pages, very minor margin wear, generally in nice condition.
