* 1st Wizard of Oz movie mention
* Actress Judy Garland - "The Jitterbug"

Page 26 has a very inconspicuous--yet significant-- mention concerning the production of the movie "Wizard of Oz". This is the earliest mention of "Wizard of Oz" in the New York Times. The item notes "...the first song for "Wizard of Oz" was turned in today: it is "The Jitterbug" by Yip Harberg and Harold Arlen, and Judy Garland will sing it." (see)
News, sports and advertisements of the day throughout. Complete in 46 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Very nice condition.
