NEW YORK HERALD, July 19, 1845 The front hage has a half column article from Quincy, Illinois, headed: "An Account of the Last Murder in the Mormon Country" which mentions near the beginning: "...raw material for which our Mormon neighbors furnish us in the results of their spiritual wife system, petty larcenies, horse stealing, robberies, murders and assassinations. Our jail has been for a long time almost literally filled with Mormon preachers and Mormon 'saints'..." with much more (see).
