May 07, 1937

NEW YORK AMERICAN, May 7, 1937  See the photos for one of the very best display issues on the explosion of the Hindenburg we have had the pleasure to offer. Although there were many photos of the Hindenburg tragedy at various stages, the most notable is the one shown on the front page of this issue, taken within seconds of the initial explosion showing the large ball of flames with the Hindenburg yet to hit the ground. This is a large photo with a bold banner head above reading: "HINDENBURG EXPLODES AT LAKEHURST; 35 DEAD'". A related subhead with more inside including a page 2 article with a survivor photo, and page 3 entirely taken up with another dramatic photo of the disaster.
The complete first section with pages 1-24 (of 42), mild margin wear, generally nice condition.
One of the very best newspapers to be had on the Hindenburg disaster.
