THE SPECTATOR, New York, March 31, 1798 Most of the front page is taken up with reports from Congress on the creation of the Mississippi Territory from land ceded by George and South Carolina. The formal creation of the Territory would happen on April 7.
Page 2 has: "A Proclamation" signed by the President: John Adams, for a day of thanksgiving and prayer (see). Close to half of the back pages is taken up with an Act of Congress signed by Jefferson and Adams.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, a few creases, nice condition.
