June 14, 1948

THE NEW YORK TIMES, June 14, 1948  A banner headline on page 26 reads "Yankees Rout Feller and Conquer Indians in Silver Anniversary Contest" with subheads that include: "25 Years of Glorious Deeds in Stadium Revived By Babe Ruth and Host of Other Yankee Stars", "Babe's No. 3 Is Retired for All Time---Uniform Will Go to Cooperstown" and more. Also two photos including the famous one of Ruth standing, leaning on baseball bat. This tells of Babe Ruth's final farewell at Yankee Stadium on it's 25th anniversary. He would die a few months later. Great to have in this famous NYC title.

Other news, sports and advertisements of the day throughout.

This is complete in 42 pages, rag edition in nice condition.
