AMERICAN MERCURY, Hartford, Dec. 7, 1813 Handsome eagle engraving in the masthead. Pages 1 & 2 contain a lengthy "Official Correspondence from Gen. Wilkinson to the Secretary of War" which is much on his failed efforts against Montreal and the battle at Chrysler's Farm. Reports on this campaign continue on page 2 with a letter from Wilkinson to General Hampton, with his response signed: W. Hampton.
Four pages, minor chipping at margins & a few small archival mends, generally nice.
