July 07, 1876
THE NEW YORK TIMES, July 7, 1876 The front page has one column headlines that include: "THE LITTLE HORN MASSACRE" "Latest Accounts Of the Charge" "Confirmation Of the Disaster" "Dispatches From Gen. Terry's Received" "The Scene Of The Massacre" "The Causes And Consequences" "Sketch Of Gen. Custer" and more. Some fine reports of the famous battle of the Little Bighorn in which General George Custer and his troops were slaughtered by Indians led by Chief Sitting Bull. Great detailed text takes up almost 4 full columns and over half of the front page.
Complete in 8 pages, various chipping at the margins with some loss but no loss to the Custer text. Various margin tears as well. Lightly toned throughout and very fragile so it must be handled carefully. Loose at the spine. Comes in a protective partial archival folder.
