Page 2 has a report noting: "....from New York but by which there were many private letters confirming the repulse at Staten Island. A letter from Rhode Island...says that Gen. Pigott was arrived there to take the command of the troops...were in no fear of the provincials, whose number...was said to be very few...It is said that the colony of Maryland has made propositions of returning to its allegiance, which have been accepted by the Howes...The success of the Milford on this station against the Provincials has been very extraordinary..." (see).
Page 3 notes: "Gen. Burgoyne is in possession of Albany. A part of his army...had lately an engagement with about 500 rebels, who go by the name of the Green Mountain boys, out of which number only 25 escaped; the rest were either killed or taken prisoners."
Four pages, folio size, period notations in ads & margins, very nice condition.
