The front page has the infamous photo of a Viet Cong officer being executed the previous day in Saigon during the Vietnam War. Text underneath includes: "A Guerrilla Dies: Brig. Gen. Nguyen Ngoc Loan, national police chief, executes a Vietcong terrorist on a street in Saigon...."
This photo is regarded as one of the most iconic images in American journalism history. Great to have on the front page of this famous NYC title and the very next day it took place.
