August 01, 1771

THE NEW YORK JOURNAL OR GENERAL ADVERTISER, New York., Aug. 1, 1771 Very nice & ornate coat-of-arms in the masthead.  Page 3 has two addresses to "...his Excellency William Tryon..." governor of New York, with his response signed in type: Wm. Tryon. Most other news items are from Europe. The back page is filled with ads.
The back leaf has a 3 by 3 1/4 inch ad cut out, slightly irregular at the spine, otherwise in very nice, clean condition. A handsome colonial newspaper nice for display given that the cut out is on the back leaf.
