CHARLESTON DAILY COURIER, South Carolina, March 3, 1863 This is one of just a few newspapers which printed; "Confederate States of America" in the dateline (see). Among the front page items are: "From Richmond" "From Vicksburg--The Surrender of the Indianola..." "The Circle" "Special Services on Thanksgiving Day" "Correspondence of the Courier" "Reported Approach of the Enemy".
The back page has: "Proclamation by the President" for a day of thanksgiving & prayer, signed in type by: Jefferson Davis (see). Other war-related items as well.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, nice condition.
