December 27, 1862

THE NEW YORK HERALD, December 27, 1862

* Fredericksburg VA
* Winchester Virginia

This Genuine newspaper has a Wealth of Civil War reporting from during Abraham Lincoln's administration.

Among the one column headlines on the Civil War are: "News From The Shenandoah Valley"; "Evacuation of Winchester by the Rebels"; "Great Destitution Among the People at Winchester"; "Instability Of The North"; "Burnside's System of Attack Ridiculed"; "The Damage Done To Fredericksburg"; and more.

Complete in eight pages. This issue is not fragile as newsprint from this era was made of cotton and linen rags, allowing them to remain very pliable and easy to handle. Some printing flaws on the inside pages, otherwise nice.
