April 07, 1911

THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR, Boston, Massachusetts, April 7, 1911  The front page of this issue carries the report "Dispose of Madison Square Garden for Big Skyscraper Site". "Madison Square Garden, the largest assembly building in New York city, was sold Thursday which already has laid plans for tearing down the structure and erecting on the site five modern skycrapers from 16 to 20 stories high. Madison Square Garden has never been a financial success. Some time ago it was announced that J. Pierpont Morgan, who controls the property, had placed it on the market with brokers for $3,000,000..."  This also includes a 6.25 x 3.25 inch photo of the interior of the building.  Today the New York Life Insurance building stands on this land.  Other articles in the issue are "Belmont Aviation Meet Plans Include Elimination Race" "Peace Conferences Continue on the Border of Mexico" and "No 'Famous Man' for Princeton". Other news, sports and advertisements are within.

This is complete in 14 pages and is in very good condition.
