Although the issue contains much news of the day, including reports on the death of General Wadsworth, the flight of General Robert E. Lee, and the success of Generals Grant and Meade, the prime feature of the issue is the front page brief proclamation by the President (Lincoln) for a day of Thanksgiving and Praise (see images), signed in block type, "Abraham Lincoln".
Complete in eight pages. This issue is not fragile as newsprint from this era was made of cotton and linen rags, allowing them to remain very pliable and easy to handle. Some light inking on the right-side of the front page, but otherwise in very good condition (see images).
