THE NEW YORK TIMES, New York, June 7, 1941 This 32 page newspaper has a three column headline on page 13: "Pirates Defeat Giants Twice" with subheads including: "MARKS IN FIELD SET IN 5-4, 4-3 VICTORIES" and more with subheads below as well.
Near the bottom of this report is a subhead reading: "Giants Don Headguards" which tells of the very first baseball game in which batting helmets were used by a Major League Baseball team.
Somewhat historic report in baseball as batting helmets are now required from Little League to the pros. Nice to have in this famous title.
Other news of the day throughout. Light browning with minor margin wear, otherwise in good condition.
