THE PENNSYLVANIA PACKET, Philadelphia, Oct. 25, 1783  A newspaper from the closing days of the Revolutionary War. Page two contains: "A Proclamation" from Congress concerning a day of Thanksgiving and prayer: "...to celebrate...the praises of their Supreme & all Bountiful Benefactor for his numberless favors & mercies that he hath been pleased to conduct us in safety through all the perils and vicissitude of the war...and hath so far crowned our united efforts with success..." with more, signed in type by Elias Boudinot, President. This is immediately followed by yet another "Proclamation" by Congress formally furloughing the soldiers from the war, and: "...they have our full permission to retire from service without being longer liable, from their present engagements, to be called into command..." with more (see), also signed in type by: Elias Boudinot, President.
Four pages, various wear at the margins with some tears and some loss at the blank spine margin, not affecting any text.
