DUNLAPS PENNSYLVANIA PACKET OR, THE GENERAL ADVERTISER, Phila., Feb. 5, 1776.
* Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1776
* Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1776
Here is an issue from the historic year of 1776, and dated five months prior, and within one day from when the Declaration of Independence was formally endorsed by the Continental Congress. Notable content includes a pg. 2 address, memorial and petition from the gentlemen, merchants and traders of London to the King concerning the hostilities in the American colonies and its potentially devastating effect on commerce. Under Cambridge are several minor war reports and from Philadelphia are details about the movement of American troops involved in the expedition on Long Island. Nice opportunity for a paper from the year of independence, with ornate lettering and a nice engraving of a ship in the masthead. Archival mend to a minor tear in the outer margin of each leaf, small, very lite stain in the upper margin affecting each leaf, otherwise in good condition.
