HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, August 12, 1871 The front page features a 2/3 page illustration of "The Staten Island Ferry Boat Disaster-The "Westfield" Immediately after the Explosion" and also has an accompanying article. Inside the issue is a halfpage illustration of "Pitching Pennies" and a halfpage illustration of "Interior of a Pawnbroker's Shop." A quarter page portrait of "The Late Mr. John Kellum" also has an accompanying article. A doublepage centerfold by Thomas Nast containing many smaller illustrations pertaining to the title "Out of Town." Also, a full page illustrations of "A Saturday Half Holiday." A 2/3 page illustration of "The First Umbrella - Mr. Jonas Hanway Walking out in a Shower" also has an accompanying article.
The issue is complete in 16 pages, in good condition, and contains additional prints and related text. See photos for details.
