The Great Whiskey Conflagration in Philadelphia...

HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, August 21, 1869  This issue features a great full front page of the 'Great Whiskey Conflagration in Philadelphia, on the Night of August 4, 1869' shows firemen fighting a fire.  There are four small illustrations showing the phases on "The Eclipse." There is a half page illustration 'Harvesting on the Battlefield of Bull Run'. A full page consist of text and 6 illustrations on the climb up Mt. Washington. Great full page illustrations are 'The Sail Boat' and "Hen Pheasant and Young". An article "Rev. George Whitefield" also features four illustrations, one of him and three others. A half-page illustration is entitled "The Family Relic" which is of the selling of the family horse to pay debt. Another nearly half page illustration is "'The Night of August 24, 1572,' the Eve of the Massacre of St. Bartholomew".
Complete in 16 pages and contains additional prints and related text.
