HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, October 3, 1868  The front page of the issue features a halfpage illustration "Prize Animals at the New Hampshire Fair, September 15-19, 1868". A halfpage illustration "Patrick J. Whelan, Condemned for the Murder of T. D'Arcy M'Gee" features an accompanying article. A halfpage illustration "The Dead Soldier and His Faithful Dog" also has an accompanying article. A full page Thomas Nast illustration entitled 'The Modern Samson' shows a Black man as Samson.  A full page "The Earthquakes in South America - Scene in the Plaza of Arequipa, Peru, August 13, 1868". "The 'All-England Eleven' Cricketers and Their Umpire" is a one-third page illustration and "The International Cricket Match" has 6 additional play illustrations with the accompanying article.  Full page of 6 illustrations of: 'The Freedmen's Schools', for emancipated Blacks, with text as well.
Complete in sixteen pages, in good condition, and contains additional prints and related text.
