WORCESTER DAILY TRANSCRIPT from Worcester, Massachusetts and dated March 3, 1865. This 4 page newspaper is in nice condition due to the use of cotton and rag paper during this very historic time in U.S. history. This issue is loaded with advertisements and short Civil War reports on inside pages from the day it was first reported that include the following reports: SEE PHOTO! and more from other areas during the war.

THE DAILY PROGRESS, Raleigh, North Carolina, March 9, 1865   Raleigh was one of the last major cities of the South to fall into the hands of Sherman, surrendering on April 13, 1865, just one day before Lincoln was assassinated. This rare Confederate title is from the latter days of the Civil War.
