A decidedly racist newspaper which began well before the Civil War & lasted a few years after. As such their reporting on war events provide a contrasting perspective beyond most other Northern newspapers.
Some articles include: "Confederate Congress" "Corruption in the White House" "Who Are the Friends of the Negro?" "The American Flag In Mourning" Sherman's Army in North Carolina" "Fighting Between Scofield and Bragg" "New Appointments by Mr. Lincoln" and so much more.
