A wealth of other inventions and innovations reported as well.
Sixteen pages, nice condition.

THE ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS, England, Oct. 7, 1876  Inside contains a full page print: "American Sketches: Indians At A Hide-Trader's Hut" as well as: "American Sketches: The Mammoth Cave of Kentucky - The Mammoth Dome" and another half page: "The Mammoth Cave of Kentucky - The Gothic Gallery" which has a related article.
Twenty-four pages, great condition.

ST. LOUIS GLOBE-DEMOCRAT, Oct. 22, 1876  Page 2 has a nice report of a baseball game (see for portions). Also inside: "Drugs That Intoxicate" "Fashionable Stimulants & Their Insinuating Effects" "The Padre's Poker Game"  "Women In India" "Doomed" "The  Arctic Fleet Surrounded by Icebergs" and much more.
Complete in 12 pages, some minor margin tears, but if dirtiness to the front page, generally nice.

SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, New York, Oct. 28, 1876  The front page of this issue has images and content for: TOBACCO LEAF STRINGER and MAIN'S MILLING ATTACHMENT FOR LATHES.  Additionally, the inside pages contain many inventions of the day including: FISH HOOKS - ENGINE INDICATOR and more. The last 2 pages have vintage ads including: The Bigelow Engine, The Trade Engine, The Quarrying machine and many more. This 16 page issue is in nice condition.

SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, New York, November 4, 1876  This 16 page magazine is in nice condition and is loaded with early invention illustrations and descriptions along with several interesting advertisements. Many of the things we use today on a regular basis were just being invented back then. This particular issue has on the front page: "CURIOUS BOATS AT THE CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION 1876".

WEEKLY OREGON STATESMAN, Salem, Oregon, 1877  This 8 page newspaper has news of the day with several interesting advertisements. With newspapers West of the Mississippi being very rare prior to 1900, here is an opportunity to get a issue from the old West back when cowboys, Indians, saloons, gold miners & gunfights were often seen on a regular basis.

Very early for Oregon. Little margin wear and tear, generally in good condition.
