THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, PA, Aug. 25, 1991  The front page has a 2-line, full-banner heading announcing: "Gorbachev Quits Party Post, Tells Communists to Disband", with subheading: "His Move signals death of party in power 74 years", and includes 2 photos. Several additional related articles with photos are found on inside pages. The front page also has: "Ukraine declares self-rule - a critical blow to union plan". 
This announcement was the telling precursor to the dissolution of The Soviet Union.
Present are sections A and F, which are complete and in good condition.
