Peace is announced: the War of 1812 is over...
CONNECTICUT MIRROR, Hartford, Feb. 20, 1815 The front page has over half a column headed with a rather dramatic (type larger than normal): "PEACE ! ! ! " The report begins: "A Treaty Of Peace was signed by the American and British Commissioners at Ghent on the 24th of December, and ratified by the Prince Regent on the 30th..." with much more.
Also on the front page is: "Captain Pring's Despatch - Battle of Lake Champlain" which takes over a full column & concludes on page 2.
Also inside is; 'New Orleans Safe!" which is a letter signed by Andrew Jackson. This is followed by two more letters concerning the situation in New Orleans, from shortly after the historic battle there. And page 3 has a nice editorial headed: "Celebration Of Returning Peace".
Four pages, a small stain to a lower portion of the right margin causing no loss of readability, otherwise nice condition.
