Murder and piracy, and trouble with Indians...
Item # 713028
April 28, 1794
SPOONER'S VERMONT JOURNAL, Windsor, April 28, 1794 This is a quite uncommon 18th century title.
Page 2 has a report from Winchester concerning a party of 13 who: "...on their way in from Kentucky, were attacked in the wilderness by a large party of Indians; four of the company were killed..." with more.
The back page has over half a column report from Boston headed: "Murder and Piracy" as well as a smaller report: "British Piracy".
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, irregular at the margins with some margin loss due to paper-making flaws, not damage. There is an archival mend at the bottom of the spine, a bit of spotted foxing.
