NILES' NATIONAL REGISTER, Baltimore, Oct. 13, 1838  An inside page has: "The Mormon Difficulties" which takes a bit over a full column, and begins: "The true secret of the excitement against the Mormons, it is shrewdly suspected, lies in the desire to keep them off some of the fine lands in Carroll, Davies, and the counties adjoining Caldwell. They have settled some rich farms which are very tempting..." with more. 
Also included is the testimony of a committee: "To the citizens of Chariton" which includes: "...returned from the neighborhood of the Mormon difficulties & left the Mormons begging for peace. Joseph Smith & Lyman Wight came before judge King..." with more.  Included also are letters signed in type by Joseph Smith, Jr., and Sidney Rigdon.
Sixteen pages, 8 1/4 by 12 inches, nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
