The back page has a report: "Mormon Troubles" which mentions in part: "Governor Ford, concentrated some 5 to 800 of the Illinois militia in the neighborhood of Nauvoo to frustrated the wolf hunt...he had writs issued against the whole of the guard that were on duty at the time the Smiths were murdered, and there was a squandering amongst the Anti-Mormons...No movements hostile to the Mormons appearing, the governor had discharged some of his forces, and they were returning home."
Sixteen pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
