UNITED STATES' TELEGRAPH, Washington, a lot of six issues from 1827-1828. This was a politically-themed newspaper published by Duff Green, who had come to Washington to establish a newspaper to promote the candidacy of Andrew Jackson. Mott says, "Green proved to be of the hard-hitting politician type of editor." which could be taken literally as during the publication of the "Extra", Green got involved in a fist-fight in the Capitol.
There is no doubt that Green's campaign efforts helped Jackson to victory. This newspaper became the official organ of the Jackson's administration.
Each issue is complete in 8 pages, 11 by 15 inches, nice condition.
