NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Oct. 30, 1809 Page 2 has a letter from John Johnston, the Indian Agent, dated at Fort Wayne announcing that what became known as the Fort Wayne Treaty and been signed with the Indians on Sept. 30.
It was negotiated by Wm. Henry Harrison, governor of the Indiana Territory, and gained 3 million acres for the United States.
