As the title would suggest, this is primarily a religious newspaper, however there is secular reporting as well, including war-related news.
Among the articles: "Lincoln Burned In Effigy" "The American War" "Anxiety A Sin" "Funds For Chaplains in the Army" "News of the Week" with various war reports. There is also a: "Proclamation By The President" for a day of thanksgiving, prayer, & humiliation. It is signed in type: Jefferson Davis.
Complete as a single sheet issue, never-trimmed margins, damp stain to the lower right quadrant, a few very discrete archival mends near the fold, good condition.
