THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 28, 1760  Pages 4 and 5 contains the report from 'The London Gazette Extraordinary' on the historic Siege of Quebec, or Second Battle of Quebec. This was a French attempt to retake Quebec City, Canada, which had been captured by Britain the previous year. The siege lasted for over 2 weeks in early May, when British ships arrived to relieve the city and compelled the French commander to break off the siege and to retreat.
The report is dated "Quebec, May 25, 1760 and takes four columns of detailed text, signed in type at its conclusion: James Murray, the British commander at Quebec when it fell to the British.
