NEW YORK CLIPPER, Oct. 14, 1882 This newspaper calls itself the "Oldest American Sporting & Theatrical Journal" in the decorative masthead.
An inside page has a nice portrait of "Frank H. Mountain" with the biography beginning: "...the well-known & promising professional pitcher...He first become prominent as a pitcher in 1880..." with much more (see for portions). This same page has 16 box scores of baseball games. Much coverage of other sports as well.
Sixteen pages, one of the back leaves has a 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch hole not close to the mentioned content, otherwise in great condition.
