August 15, 1945
LOS ANGELES EXAMINER, California, August 15, 1945
* Japanese surrenders
* World War II ends
One of the more dramatic & displayable newspapers on the end of World War II, using black, red & blue ink. The very top has 2 flags between which is: "Victory" and the large, dramatic headline: "WAR ENDS ! " is in red dropped out of a black box. Also: "MacArthur To Rule Japs" and more. The front page also features a photo of General Douglas MacArthur. Much related reporting on the inside pages as well.
First section with 16 pages, a damaged issue with some margin and central fold wear with a few noticeable tape mends, nice for display as such.
