DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Nov. 13, 1849

* California Gold Rush
* 49ers - mining - miners

Page 3 has a wealth of reporting from California including: "Important From California" which takes over a full column and deals with the efforts to create a constitution so they can join the Union. One paragraph begins: "A Bill of Rights precedes the Constitution, which, as adopted in committee of the whole, embraces  20 sections of the usual character of such provisions...".
Also: "The Immigration Into California" gives the latest information, and: "Advice To California Emigrants" offers thoughts on the best way to get there. One item notes: "The best route, of course, is by way of Panama, if you can secure a ticket for the other side; if not, don't go...very sorry to learn that so many are going around the Horn, as they must be from five to nine months on their way...".
Most of a column is headed: "Latest From the California Mines" and has any great reports on the situation at the gold diggings, both optimistic and pessimistic.
Four pages, very nice condition.
