April 09, 1862
NEW YORK HERALD, April 9, 1862  Most of the front page is  taken up with a huge and very detailed map headed: "MAP OF YORKTOWN AND SURROUNDINGS." with subhead: "The Virginia Peninsula Between York and James Rivers--The Scene of Major General McClellan's Operations." There are also many front page one column war heads.
Plus, there are two more Civil War maps on page 3, a large one headed: "THE VICTORY ON THE MISSISSIPPI" with much detail, and a smaller one column map headed: "The Mississippi River". More one column heads on pg. 3 as well. And beyond the above, there is yet another one column map on pg. 7, headed: "Scene Of The Battle" near Corinth, with related heads.
There is also much reporting on the Battle of Shiloh with page 7 heads: "Additional Details of the Battle at Pittsburg" "A Pitched Battle of Two Days Duration" "The Bloodiest Fight of Modern Times" "Complete & Overwhelming Victory of the Union Forces" and more (see).
Twelve pages, close-trimmed at the bottom of pages 1 & 12 affects only ads, otherwise quite nice condition.
