ESSEX REGISTER, Salem, Massachusetts, June 22, 1816
* Lord Byron... "Fare Thee Well"
* Original printing from year of publication
In 1815 Lord Byron married Annabella Milbanke, and fathered a child with her. A year later they were divorced, but before their marriage needed, he wrote "Fare Thee Well" as what he described as both his first and last prose for her benefit. The Essex Register printed the poem with a brief introduction. Nice to have this "same year" printing.
Other news of the day and period advertising is found throughout.
Complete in 4 pages, in very good condition.
