This was actually part of Massachusetts at the time as Maine did not become a state until 1820. A very early Maine newspaper 14 years before statehood.
Most of the ftpg. is taken up with An Act" of Congress relating to claims of land in the territory of Orleans, part of the recent Louisiana Purchase. It is signed in type by the President: Th. Jefferson.
Four pages, scattered foxing, very nice condition.
