THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, Jan. 1815  Within this issue is: "Dr. Franklin's Last Thoughts on Religion" which begins: "That the name of Benjamin Franklin cannot fail of occupying a conspicuous place in future histories of the 18th century, will, I have no doubt, be readily admitted..." and ends with his thoughts: "...inquiring of the Doctor what were his sentiments as to the truth of the Scriptures. On the question being put, although he was in a very weak state, and near his close, he replied, 'Young man! my advice to you is, that you cultivate an acquaintance with, and a firm belief in the Holy Scriptures: this is your certain interest'."
Complete in 96 pages, full title/contents page with an engraving of St. John's Gate, 5 by 8 1/4 inches, several tiny binding holes along left spine, otherwise in nice condition.
