* Recruiting troops for the War of 1812
Although there is various content on the War of 1812, the most intriguing item in this issue is the very nice recruitment advertisement headed with an engraving of a heraldic eagle and beginning: "ATTENTION ! All Patriotic Men..." with more, including: "The atrocious conduct of the enemy towards the defenseless citizens who have been exposed to their power...What nobler object can a generous American have than the protection of our most populous cities from threatened destruction?..." with more (see). A $16 bounty is offered as well as 160 acres at the end of the war.
Four pages, minor light foxing, generally nice.
