THE STARS & STRIPES, Rennes, France, August 24, 1944
* Paris, France recaptured
Great to have a newspaper printed in France (there were many European edition of Stars & Stripes: see the photos for the imprint this issue was printed in Rennes, west of Paris) reporting that: "PARIS IS LIBERATED" as boldly proclaimed in this banner headline. The subhead: "Patriots Clear City In Four-Day Battle As U.S. Army Nears" and more. Actually this report is a day ahead of the "official" liberation date of August 25.
Fours pages, never bound nor trimmed, very nice condition.
